When Cases are started for Subjects, this often results in personal information being collected & transferred to third parties, for example the DBS or the DVLA.
Due to the nature of the information we collect and to comply with data protection laws Personnel Checks obtains Consent from the Subject to do this.
Currently in Personnel Checks it is not possible to view retrospectively what Consents has been provided.
The changes described below will be available on Tuesday 28th May 2024

Viewing Consent
You can now view Consents granted by Subjects within Personnel Checks.
This view shows the details of Consents granted by the Subject such as the date/time it was granted, the duration and purpose.
Requesting New Consent
If a Consent has expired or has been revoked, starting a new Case on the Subject will re-obtain any required Consents for the relevant Activity Types.
NOTE: Previously revoked Consents will remain in the list for visibility and auditing purposes.
For Subjects
Giving Consent
Subjects will give automatically be required to provide Consent for relevant Activities when completing Case Portals. Personnel Checks will detail what they are consenting to, how long the consent is for, and what happens to their information.
Subjects will not be able to complete the Case Portal without giving the required Consents.
Viewing Consents
Subjects will now be able to view a list of any Consents they have previously given within their subject portal
Revoking Consent
If a Subject wishes to revoke Consent, they do this in their Subject Portal. A warning will be shown that revoking a previously provided consent might impact planned future Activities (such as DVLA & DBS Update Service).
Regranting consent
Revoking a Consent cannot be reversed. To re-acquire Consent it is necessary to create a new Case in Personnel Checks
Audit log
In all situations where a Consent has been granted or revoked, these actions are audit logged against the Subject.
