NEW - Adverse Financial Information


Working with our current credit reference agency partner Experian, Adverse Financial Information data requests can now be facilitated in Personnel Checks.  Allowing you to request and view results as part of your Subject cases.


What does it provide?


An overview of a individual's personal financial and payment history alongside any bankruptcies, CCJs, voluntary arrangements, excessive debts and defaults.


What it checks for & what's included

6 year coverage of:

  • County Court Judgments (CCJs): Records of legal action for debt
  • Bankruptcy & Insolvency: History of personal bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings.
  • Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs): Formal agreements for debt repayment.
  • Defaults & Late Payments: Missed payments on financial agreements.
  • Excessive Debt: Indications of significant outstanding debt. 

Note: Soft Footprint: only visible by the Subject and does not negatively affect credit scores.

How does it work and cost?


Set up

NOTE: AFIs are intended to be used for employment screening and risk mitigation for certain roles and industries.  Personnel Checks cannot advise on when this should be applied OR Personnel Checks cannot advise on the interpretation of nor assist with making a decision based on these results.


Subject commitments

Individuals will only be asked to supply mandatory data required in order to process the Adverse Financial Information request.  Consent and fair processing notices will be clear and transparent, and required prior to processing the request.

Only results pertaining to the total number of adverse records will be displayed within the Case Portal for individuals to view once available.  All other details will only be made visible to the requestor within Personnel Checks under the Case Activities view.


Usage

  • Step 1- Start a Case within the Personnel Checks platform app.personnelchecks.co.uk on a Process that has an AFI Activity Type requirement. 
    • NOTE: Your current and agreed payment setting will apply.
  • Step 2 (Awaiting Subject) - Subjects will be asked to supply the mandatory processing information, answer any declarations and supply consent.
  • Step 3 (In Progress) - The request will be processed via the credit reference agency, Experian.
  • Step 4 (Completed) - Results will be presented within the Personnel Checks platform against the Case and relating Case Activity details view and available to select for the case pdf report inclusion.


Queries

The Personnel Checks team will monitor and where appropriate, aim to liaise with the relevant parties to resolve any queries and to combat delays.


Results

Any adverse records that have been returned will be flagged for attention.  Users will be able to view the full results against the Case Activity.

Has the applicant declared any County Court Judgments, Debt Relief Orders, Trust Deeds or Individual Voluntary Arrangements

Either a "Yes" or "No" response

Subject entered. Honesty question asked of the individual and if they any of the mentioned has been registered against them in the past 6 years

Declared CCJs Notes

Notes field

Subject entered. If any additional notes were supplied by the Subject related to the above before the request was made, it will be presented here

Has the applicant declared Bankruptcy

Either a "Yes" or "No" response

Subject entered.  Honesty question asked of the individual and if a bankruptcy order has been registered against them in the past 6 years

 

Declared Bankruptcy Notes

Subject entered.  If any additional notes were supplied by the Subject related to the above before the request was made, it will be presented here

Number of Adverse Records

Whole number

Returned from Experian: Total number of adverse records found (whole number) or "0" if none

Total Value of CCJs (Rounded Up To The Nearest £100)

£Whole number

Returned from Experian: Total amount of CCJs in GBP (whole number) or "0" if none.  This includes satisfied ones

Total Value of CCJs still outstanding (Rounded Up To The Nearest £100)

£Whole number

Returned from Experian: Total amount of outstanding CCJs in GBP (whole number) or "0" if none

Date of Latest Adverse Record

Date or "none"

Returned from Experian: A date will be displayed if any records are found or "None"

Notice Of Correction

Notes field

Returned from Experian: A short statement used to add further information to an entry on a credit report.  E.g. a reason why a late payment might have occurred

 

Bankruptcy Order/Voluntary Arrangement

Either a "Yes" or "No" response

Returned from Experian: A legal status for inability to pay debts and an agreement to pay back any debt over time

 

Any Satisfied Records

Either a "Yes" or "No" response

Returned from Experian: Any debt, default, CCJs that have been paid in full over the past 6 years

Any Adverse Data At An Undisclosed Forwarding Address?

Either a "Yes" or "No" response

Returned from Experian: CCJs or any negative markers associated with a forwarding or unknown addresses linked to the individual
